The Yamaguchi Bank Head Office, completed in 1965, was designed by architect Masachika Endo, with furniture and interior design by Isamu Kenmochi. We supplied approximately 160 square meters of wall to wall hand-knotted Dantsu carpets for the president’s office and reception room on the 6th floor, as well as over 4,000 square meters of Wilton carpets installed across the 2nd, 6th, and 8th floors.

This photograph captures a rare moment from that time, showing Isamu Kenmochi inspecting the carpet installation. Holding a camera in hand, his gaze surveying the space raises the question—what vision did he see through his discerning eyes?

1965年、建築家・圓堂正嘉の設計により竣工した山口銀行本店。その家具・インテリアデザインは、剣持勇が手掛けています。弊社は、6階の頭取執務室と応接室に約160平米の敷き込み手織緞通を、2階・6階・8階には合計4,000平米を超えるウィルトンカーペットを製作・納入いたしました。

本写真は、じゅうたんの敷き込み施工後に剣持勇が立ち会い、検査を行っている貴重な当時の様子です。カメラを手にし、空間全体を見渡すその眼差しには、一体どのような光景が映っていたのでしょうか。
