一列に並び、織る
One scene of hand-knotting Dantsu rugs. Two vertical threads are moved back and forth around which a single pile wool thread is twisted in a figure of eight. It is then knotted by hand with the fingertips and cut.
手織緞通の織り風景。前後にずらした2本の縦糸に、1本のパイル羊毛を8の字を描くように絡め、指先で手結びし、カットしていきます。
大きなサイズは複数人の織り手が横一列に並び、呼吸を合わせながら織り進めます。途方もない回数を積み重ねる手仕事の反復です。
