Junzo Yoshimura, a renowned architect representing Japan’s postwar modernist architecture, left behind numerous masterpieces in residential design.

Under the design direction of Junzo Yoshimura’s Architectural Design Office, Yamagata Dantsu was privileged to create and install custom carpets, primarily wall-to-wall carpets for private residences, as well as for villas, apartment complexes, lodging facilities, public buildings, and various other spaces.

In this column, we will highlight three beautiful residences where we had the honor of collaborating on the creation and installation of wall-to-wall carpets designed by Junzo Yoshimura.

 

戦後の日本のモダニズム建築を代表する建築家であり、数多くの名作住宅作品を残した吉村順三。

山形緞通は、吉村順三設計事務所による設計の下、個人住宅への敷き込みカーペットを中心に、別荘、集合住宅、宿泊施設、公共建築等、様々な空間へ特注じゅうたんを製作施工する機会に恵まれました。

本コラムでは、吉村順三の設計の下、私どもが敷き込みカーペットの製作施工をご一緒した3軒の美しい住宅の風景をご紹介します。

 

1. House in Shonan-Chigasaki | 湘南茅ヶ崎の家

A guesthouse designed within the grounds of a golf club. Visitors could enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the ocean from the elevated hills of Shonan.

The residence of Junzo Yoshimura, designed by the architect himself. This home has undergone more than six renovations and extensions since its completion, reflecting the architect’s living space.
