Another Story: House at Shonan-Chigasaki, designed by Junzo Yoshimura (1967)
In 1977, ten years after the house was completed, the original bedroom carpet—crafted by us—was replaced at the request of the original homeowner with a new one in deep purple, also made in our workshop.
Nearly half a century has passed since the replacement, yet the carpet remains in use today, quietly accompanying the daily life of the current owner’s family.
The aged wool has developed a beautifully rich sheen over time. Seeing the carpet—aged with grace in a lovingly maintained home—filled us with emotion.

吉村順三設計「湘南茅ヶ崎の家」では、1967年の竣工後、1977年に寝室のカーペットを当時の施主様のご希望で紫色のものへ敷き替えを行いました。
敷き替え施工後、約半世紀が経過いたしましたが、当時敷き変えられたカーペットは今も現役で、現在のオーナーご家族の生活と共にあります。
経年変化した上質なウールのテクスチャは、艶やかに深みを増しています。大切に住み継がれた住まいで歳月を重ねたカーペットの姿に、胸がいっぱいになりました。
